RYE INTERNATIONAL
FILM FESTIVAL
SEPT 2027
Great films don’t always play by the rules.
Neither do we
Rye International Film Festival is a new home for bold cinema, original voices and filmmakers with something to say.
Set among the crooked streets, ancient walls and slightly seditious spirit of Rye, RIFF brings independent film from around the UK and the world to one of England’s most singular towns — three days of screenings, discoveries, conversations, late nights and the occasional beautiful bit of trouble.
We’re interested in the unexpected. New voices alongside established ones. Films made with guts, imagination and a point of view. Cinema that provokes, seduces, entertains, unsettles — or simply refuses to behave.
Our first edition lands September 2027, and returns every first weekend of September.
Come for the good films. Stay for the good trouble.
SUBMIT YOUR FILM
We will soon be accepting submissions for our inaugural edition, taking place in September 2027. RIFF is looking for bold, original work across Feature Film, Short Film and Documentary categories from emerging voices and established filmmakers alike. We welcome films of any genre and from any country, with no premiere status required; previously screened work is very welcome. Selected filmmakers will be invited to screenings, conversations and networking events alongside producers, agents and industry professionals, with award winners receiving an official RIFF trophy and festival laurels. Submissions will be accepted via FilmFreeway. Join our mailing list to be the first to hear when applications open.
